Astral Spirit, Astral Power, Astral Energy, they all refer to the same thing - an inexplicable energy that was discovered deep beneath the Earth a hundred years ago. Though depending on the context in which it is used, the terms can change:

The rawest form of the energy discovered deep beneath the planet. It can exit to the surface through vortexes, giving off astral light in the process. This light is an indication of the type of astral power one would receive after being exposed to it. Light blue would mean ice, while brown would mean earth. The vortex where Mismis acquired her powers from gave off emerald green light, signifying a wind elemental power.

Because astral energy has the unique property of possessing people, and seem to be "alive", it also referred to as astral spirit.They are hinted to be living entities due to the fact that they can speak, albeit in an unfamiliar language.

According to Jhin Syulargun, getting possessed by an astral spirit is extremely rare, as 99% of people don't get possessed no matter how strong the spirit is.[1] Only those found as "suitable hosts" are possessed and gain supernatural abilities.

Individuals with astral powers are able to harness various elements of nature. For example, Aliceliese has control over ice, allowing her to freeze landscapes solid with little effort. In some cases, individuals can also gain abilities that go beyond their elemental capabilities. Salinger for example, has the ability to steal other people's astral powers; while Sisbell has the ability to recreate events that have already occurred.
