Hi everyone,

I was delighted to receive the following account of the protest in Washington, and I think you will be too.

The fight regarding the takeover of the US economy is anything but over. We must do our warfare in the Spirit: "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds." (2 Corinthians 10:4)

Be encouraged and pray much,

Eugene

Trip to Washington, DC
By Barbara Judd

With three day's notice I was on the bus again to Washington, DC to protest the health care bill now before Congress. This was my 2nd visit there. I went on 9/12 to that rally.

We left Wednesday at 7:30 pm on a bus with about 50 folks dedicated to making a difference in DC. Eating breakfast before 4 AM was unusual for us, but at about 8:30 we were at the grounds of the Capitol Building. The rally didn't start until 12:00 so we had plenty of time to talk to folks. I met patriots from OR, MD, GA, TX, MI, OH, NJ, NY, VA, FL and SC in the little area where I stood!

I wish I could tell you about the passion these people feel for our country.  Everyone was so friendly and orderly. There were folks from seven years old to some in their 80's. The crowd (I heard there were over 25,000 of us) started chanting:
"Can you hear us now?"
"We are the people."
"Kill the bill!"

Can you believe a policeman with an assault riffle came out on the capitol steps? You'd think we were in a banana republic. Also, many policemen, some with dogs, were milling around. We were told that Nancy Pelosi had said the Capital would be closed to us, and sure enough, there were tons of policemen and barricades that kept us from getting very close to the building. One policeman made me let him check my bag.

There were a lot of congressional staffers milling around in front of the speakers, but we kept chanting, "Down in front!" until they all had to sit or kneel down so we could see. Since I was on the front row, I was able to shake hands with a lot of the Congressmen and one Congresswoman who came over to us. We complained to some of them about their staffers standing in front of us, and pretty soon they had to sit. These folks seem to forget that WE pay their salaries.

When the rally began several of the Republican Congressmen/women spoke.  I believe Joe Wilson was applauded the loudest. (He shouted, "You lie!" at the Obama address to Congress.) They all remarked that our presence was making a difference and that they were grateful to us for coming on such short notice (Michelle Bachmann, Congresswoman from MN issued the
invitation only last Friday!)

Mark Levine & several other celebrities spoke. We were in good company.  After the rally we were to go see our Congressman in his office. (I believe nearly all of those in attendance tried to get in.) I found a very large crowd in front of me. I hope a lot of Democratic Congressmen got a visit from some of these folks!

Nancy Pelosi had some folks arrested who got into her office, I was told.  She also made the statement to them that our presence would make no difference to her because the American people had waited long enough for her reforms.

The house vote is to take place Saturday, according to several of the Congressmen who shook our hands at the rally. PLEASE PRAY.

PS Somehow, I do not feel this will be the last trip we will be expected to take to Washington, DC. I pray that lots of you will opt to go next time, if you possibly can. I promise you, it will be exciting!
