Dear all,

It has been ten years since the 18th of Tir of 1999, when the brutal
and organized attacks on Tehran University's student residence of
"Kooye Daneshgah" took place. This time around however, in the midst
of the current happenings of protest and bloodshed, and as a sign of
respect for those who first paved the way for today's democratic
people's movement, and also in solidarity with the ongoing struggle in
Iran, dedicating an evening to to the remembrance of this historical
event seems to stand out as a human and democratic duty.

These brutal attacks that led to the injury and killing of several
Tehran University students, ultimately resulted in days of protests
and imprisonment of hundreds of student demonstrators. Then, just as
now, protesters faced grave consequences in their quest for freedom.

We dedicate this evening to all those who have lost their lives for
freedom in Iran, to demonstrate that we remember the past, and that we
will not stand silent in the face of another potential crackdown
looming in near future.

This program will be bi-lingual in Farsi and English. All are welcome.

Please help us promote this event.
