Parijat Academy - a wonderful news

Parijat Academy is an NGO that provides holistic education to children from socio-economically disadvantaged communities in the outskirts of Guwahati, Assam. The school also provides vocational education. Banana Fiber extractor is a machine to extract fiber from banana tree or banana stem. The school is training the local youths, students on extracting the fiber, and producing mats, fabrics, and products from these machines. We recently came to know  that a prominent US based organization decided to support  the banana fiber initiative - its a wonderful news

Parijat Academy runs entirely on donations from well-wishers in India and abroad. But the funds it receives barely meets its growing needs. The global pandemic created a severe financial shortfall. The school and the hostels operate out of simple bamboo structures and are in urgent need of repairs. Operational costs are mounting, with the result that the school has not been able to pay salaries to the teachers for the last three months. AFNA is running a campaign to support Parijat Academy
