Hi. I have purchased Metadrive for our new Google business domain. I have followed the instructions in your Getting Started guide (HOW TO START WITH METADRIVE FOR A COMPANY DOMAIN), logged in with Administrator rights. I configured some folders with custom metadata and defined a custom view. But when I sign out, and sign back in as a user of that domain, I do not see any of this. Do I have to set it up for each user one-by-one (please say no!)? The Getting Starting guide suggests I should not have to do this.

Thanks!

Having not had a response, and being short of time, I went ahead and started configuring users one-by-one. That is, log onto Google Drive/Metadrive as each user, and manually configure the custom metadata (the same for each user). Unfortunately, not only is this laborious, it actually doesn't work: let's say two users on the same business domain, with access to same folder, are both set-up with a custom metadata property of "Status" (with choosable values "Started", "Not started", "Done"). One user may set a status of Started but the other user does not see this. The other user can set a different status, say, Not Started.

I can't believe this is the correct behaviour, but it's what I see. I've followed the installation as best I can, but to be honest, the documentation is rather thin. And in addition to this problem, there's also the ongoing issue that the Google Docs add-on doesn't work at all (an issue your support people confirmed in this forum a few weeks ago).

Sadly, these issues make Metadrive completely unusable for us. It's a pity because I love the idea: it is exactly what we need and no-one else has anything like it (that I know of).

I'll inform my bosses today. I am sure they'll instruct me to cancel our subscription.

Hello,

We have sent you today two emails directly to you regarding this topic. Can you check your spam and let us know?

This is the last email we have sent to you 3 hours ago:

Hello,

Once Metadrive is installed at Domain level, all users from the domain should have a quick access to Metadrive in the Google Apps Launcher:

In case you have installed Metadrive at domain level, please can you double check what is the current status?

1) Open the Google Admin Console

2) Go to Apps Marketplace Apps, You should see Metadrive in that list:

If you don't see Metadrive in this list, click in the + button and search for it. Install it.

3) If you see Metadrive in the list, click on it.

Option A) You can see the message Approval Needed as shown below

If this is the case, Click in Data access, and then Grant data access.

That's all.

Option B) You don't have the message Approval Needed. If this is the case, it means that Metadrive is properly installed.

Please can you double check if Metadrive has been properly installed at domain level?

If so, and your users cannot access to it, let us know and we organise a hangout session with you to help you to configure it.

Regards,
Evenbytes Team

Fernando,

Thanks -- yes, your emails did go to Spam, which is why I didn't see them. My apologies. And yes, that was the cause of the problem -- data access had not been granted (instructions to check that were not included in the Getting Started guide). Anyway, that has fixed the problem. Thanks again!
