I would like to automatically start a specific netflix tv show on my firetv stick. I have configured the androidtv component and everything works fine. I can send some standard commands through the androidtv.adb_command service with a json formatted like this:
I think the best approach for you is to mimic the turn_off command in the androidtv package. Instead of using Harmony to send the down and OK commands, use the androidtv.adb_command service with something like this:
I found it! This command worked on my new FireTV Cube to launch a youtube video. I used this with the ADB bridge addon. I will try next with the python method to see if I have the same results. Hope this helps!
Hi, I am new to this forum. Just installed Coreeelec on SD card, and wanted to ad netflix addon to Kodi. It went succesfully, but it doest start playing videos. I can watch trailers, but not movies. Tried it on android 9.0 system on my H96 Max box and it went normaly. Could it has something with widevine? Thanks
Edit: just read on NF addon forum that the latest Widevine breaks latest addon version 1.9.1. To solve this, either go back to older Widevine build (in InputStream Helper addon choose Restore Widevine CDM library) or try installing older NF version 1.9.0 or 1.8.0 from repository
Netflix (as downloaded from Play Store) is rather cumbersome to operate. It doesn't recognize any of the playback control buttons on the remote (play, pause, ff, skip, etc.), the only way to control playback is using a mouse. Scrolling the list of episodes is irksome as well, buttons don't work and it seems the only way to do it is to drag it with the mouse (hold mouse button while moving it). Seems like the app is tailored to touchscreen interface rather than TV.
I used to own one of the early Android 3.x boxes where Netflix app was fully aware of all remote control buttons and easy to navigate. Is there anything that could be done (like notifying the Play Store to suggest selecting "TV" versions of the apps vs. "phone" versions)?
It may be that the Mygica ATV495 brings the Widevine DRM and can be capable to use Netflix for android tv

Pretty Shi*ty if you ask me. I have had the box for a year and not being able to play/watch anything on Netflix. Hmmm, big company as MyGica can't resolve the issue? with the oldest streaming app that has been on the market forever-NETFLIX. Not everybody has the ability to navigate through mygica/xbmc/kodi menus. Neither my 7 year old or my Mom can use it for Netflix.
Gotta feeling that my 1800 will be a last mygica product. This item should have not been released if it wasn't fully functional, nor it should have been advertised as having Netflix built in, because its 80% built in. Rest doesn't work.
So therefore we are not capable of modifying another companies app to work with an IR Remote
You will be able to use it with a mouse though, I am not sure what the issue your having when it comes to using a mouse??
We fixed this issue on our new units (495 PRO/1900 PRO) once we found out we need Widevine Level 1 DRM in order to use the Netflix TV app for Netflix 1080P HD,
We cannot add this to our older units because we can only add Widevine Level 1 DRM at the factory.

So basically, Kodi turns your TV into a smart TV thanks to the Raspberry Pi. It will be way easier to browse this interface instead of using Chromium to watch something on Netflix or find your MP4 file in a subfolder on Raspberry Pi OS.
And even if you already have a smart TV, it goes further with all the add-ons available.
In this article, I will show you the installation with OSMC, but most of the tutorials will be the same for any of these options.

Just to clarify my last comment, I do not meant to download or play any illegal media with this setup. It was more about what information I am giving to the all-mighty google and how secure my browsing is with osmc ?
