It went on to become one of the biggest Bollywood hits of 1997, grossing Rs 324.3 million (US$5.7 million) at the box office. The film was remade in Tamil as Dharma, starring Vijayakanth. The 1998 Kannada movie One Man Army was an unofficial adaptation of this movie. The film also was remade in Bangladeshi in 1998 as Shanto Keno Mastan, starring Manna, Shahnaj and Humayun Faridi, directed by Montajur Rahman Akbar.

The album has seven songs in the vocals of Hariharan, Chithra, Lalit Sen, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Shweta Shetty and Alka Yagnik. Sameer Sen-Dilip Sen composed the music for the album which was acclaimed by the audience. Besides "Mera Dil Le Gayi Oye" with Punjabi dash and touch, the song "Hum Tumse Na Kuch Keh Paaye" became popular as a soft romantic ballad[citation needed]. The other songs, in addition, became appealing[clarification needed].[2] The song "Mera Dil Le Gayi Oye" also known as "Kammo" is based on "Billo" although the song was reportedly mangled.[3]

The closing scenes must have been repeated a thousand times over, as a mob tries to find a hidden person of the wrong religion, and good-hearted people try to offer protection. There is a kind of inevitable logic involved in the way a child would view such a situation and cause harm while trying to help. This is the kind of film that makes you question any religion that does not have as a basic tenet the tolerance of other religions. If God allows men to worship him in many forms, who are we to kill them in his name? "Earth" was written and directed by Deepa Mehta, a Canadian whose previous film, "Fire" (1997), was the first serious Indian film to deal with lesbianism. After sex and Partition, she plans to move on to "Water," about "what happens when Hinduism comes in direct conflict with conscience." In a society still touchy about these subjects, she is nothing if not courageous. (Although the Sidhwa novel won the top literary award in Pakistan, "Earth" has been banned there; in India, censors cut out the gentle, sweet sex scene and made five other cuts.) The fact is, many Americans do not know India and Pakistan were once one country, and few could provide an explanation of Partition. "Earth" is effective because it doesn't require much history from its viewers, explains what needs to be known, and has a universal message, which is that when a mob forms in the name of a religion, its first casualty is usually the teaching of the religion.

The time was right to revisit the Buena Vista Social Club. The blockbuster 1997 album and 1999 documentary, chronicling the recording sessions of an ad-hoc group of remarkable Cuban musicians, set off a global wave of appreciation for Son cubano music in the late '90s. The principal players, many of whom had begun their musical careers before the Communist revolution and had been retired for years before making the album, became overnight celebrities. And in the nearly two decades since the album's release, the name has become synonymous with the traditional Cuban jazz style its members devoted their lives to preserving. Something else has been reborn: the relationship between Cuba and the U.S., newly thawed in 2015 after more than 50 years of cultural embargo. Where once these artists were denied visas to attend their own Grammy ceremony, now they find their wildest dreams coming true in the twilight of their lives.

Adios is less engaging than Walker's earlier work, with little of the poeticism she displayed in Waste Land and The Crash Reel. It surely doesn't help that she's stuck picking through Wenders' leftovers: you don't capture musical lightning in a bottle twice. The film is also hampered by the timing of Fidel Castro's death, which apparently came too late to properly incorporate: there's a touch-and-go reference at the top, but none of the interviewees dwell on him for too long. Still, there's a sweetness to the entire project, an acknowledgment that those who grew up on Buena Vista's music needed to hear from them one last time. If you've seen them onstage, turning a four-minute ditty into a ten-minute party, you'll know that in this club, time really can last.

This might be a little bold, but I'd dare to say that Sport-Video is the best torrent sites for sports. It's hard to find another public torrent site like Sport-Video that involves such a large variety of sports genres, American football, basketball, baseball, football, hockey, rugby, AFL, MMA, car racing, and more. By clicking on the Schedule option on the home page, you can find the games that are going to be placed on the site. Apart from the obvious, it is also a great platform to stay in touch with a community of sports fans like yourself.
