I have had a very similar problem. I remember a few day ago launching Retroarch and trying to download the reicast core and finding it. Upon trying to use it as the default I get the nice little dreamcast console decoration as the background and it starts the bios. After the bios screen every game crashes.

jodiaz1486 You can keep them all but over-copy all of them to naomi.zip. this way you have them all in 1 zip. Some of them will clearly overlap. Make sure you have Naomi.zip in Bios, Naomi and Atomiswave folders as well. Did you try: BZZ 'Once you have these copy 'epr-21576g.ic27' to bios folder('\BATOCERA\share\bios') and change it to naomi_boot.bin. If this one does not work use 'epr-21576h.ic27'. These are the two I had the most luck with.' Someone else earlier said that copying 'naomi_boot.bin' to actual naomi folder helped but I would just put it in naomi.zip. You can always try both. Try to reboot system between tries as well. Might not make much difference but eliminates additional factor ;-)

I appreciate the help, but I do not get anything different from what I've been looking for before. the problem with the naomi persists, when I choose a game and it starts to load the emulator, only the frame of the naomi appears and the screen freezes and I can not close it. I need to close it by turning off the computer

jodiaz1486 I don't think it's a bios error. Have you checked which version you have of OpenGL? I believe that older versions hangs the emulator when trying to start Naomi/atom. I might be wrong but that's the conclusion I got from several threads about this.

What I get to understand these bios are set in the system directory as it is done with the neogeo.zip for neogeo, naomi. zip contains everything about naomi when using cartridge, the naomi2.zip containing everything related to naomi 2, and naomigd.zip is the reference when using GDI discs or at least to detect the rom in any of these features and can be emulated

Was unsure whether or not to post this but here it is anyway but without links to any of the utilities needed. I actually own a fair amount of GD-ROM games and netbooting gives me a more convenient way of loading my games now my GD drive is dead.

As most owners of a Net DIMM will know, it is possible to load code from a PC via ethernet.
To start with there are some jumpers to change on the DIMM board to set it to network mode.
My net DIMM had version 3.03 firmware which is fine for netbooting but as my ultimate goal was to build my own compact flash booting device I need the latest firmware, 4.01.

My first problem came with the DIMM boards I have. They were not recognised by my NAOMI.
My BIOS was 21577D which is too old for network support.
A newer BIOS was needed so I burned a new 27c160 EPROM with the latest available export bios.
This let me access the DIMM module in the test menu.

I had no luck at all with this program, probably because I didnt know what security net pic to use.
I had burned several different replacement pics but none seemed to work correctly.
I gave up with the official software and downloaded the very excellent triforcetools python script.
To use this you need to download all the associated Python files.
This script runs pretty much the same way as transfergame.exe in terms of usage but sets the DES key to zero so any net pic can be used.
As it happens I didnt get much further with this at first as it kept giving me a Error 31.

Whilst doing a lot of searching around the internet I found a modified version of the python script which claimed to remove the need for any security pic to be inserted at all, and it works a treat too.

I also managed to boot Guilty Gear XX too. All works fine. Now I have this working I am starting to think I dont need to build the CF adapter but since I have all the parts needed I might as well do it.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to configure the naomi and atomiswave platforms in the retroartch via rocketlauncher, but I'm not able to execute the emulator game until it locks up, in the .ahk of the emulator I configured naomi as follows

I do not know if this is correct, it probably can be what is causing the problem already the atomiswave I did not even configure it since I could not even configure naomi yet if anyone knows how I solve this impasse I'm grateful I already have the bios of the 2 systems confirm print attach.

The OP isn't asking whether it works on RetroArch. It's that Rocket launcher doesn't see RetroArch as a default emulator for Atomiswave/Dreamcast/Naomi. So they're struggling to launch the games through Hyperspin.

As far as compatibility goes I've not played around with it much on PC (did try Sega Rally 2). It's not available to android RA users and that's where I've been spending my time lately. As well as testing the redream emulator on my android phone and STV

No, it's a bit of both. I'm pretty certain he's not edited the retroarch module correctly, core name looks wrong for a start. So there's a 100 percent chance it's not working because they have no idea what they're doing

Project to get the Netboot feature working on the Naomi arcade system using a Raspberry Pi computer board. Overview of the process, equipment and software required. No links to ROM images will be provided.

CPS 1 & 2 are different from one another and vastly different than Naomi. Same is true with MVS. Chihiro and Triforce also use the NetDimm but are again, completely different hardware. You could possibly use the Pi to boot CPS1, CPS2 & MVS as an emulation option but that would be a different setup.

Do only Japanese ROMs work for netboot? I recently got a netdimm and pi setup. It came with the sd card already set up. Works great, but all the games are Japanese versions. Would love to swap them with US versions if possible.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a netdimm which looks slightly different and only has an ethernet port and not vga or GDRom ports? I believe it was originally in a Triforce. It looks the same as the one pictured in the article in all other ways (apart from another small socket on the top). Can this also be used in a naomi system? Many thanks

Was wondering I have a PiForce NetDimm With Naomi setup that is a stand up arcade and driving games like 18 Wheeler and Crazy Taxi will not work with a joystick setup. Can I use the Dreamcast Bins For these games so they could possibly be played using joystick setup?

Im.lost i.am.i retested what games does it play does it store them.after it reads them can I create an arcade style gaming system.with an old arcade machine im.just lost been reading up on it still lost can someone put in idiots terms for me please

I do have one more dumb question. Does the net dimm support only Naomi games or can it do Sega Triforce and Atomiswave games too. The reason I ask is because the BIN files for the different systems are often found with each other and Atomiswave games say Naomi Conversions. Thanks, again.

5. If the signal dropped when sending a file nothing bad will happen. The file transfer will just fail, then you send again. You cannot brick the dimm that way. The RAM is just pc ram and not flash ram.

This is a work computer at a video post house so we do a lot of heavy processing and rendering. Have two identical Aurora-R4s in the office. R4 #1 started experiencing some weird glitches a few months ago:

Of course, warranty was expired so we attempted to fix ourselves. Figured potential hardware issue, tested different RAM stick configurations - no help. Ran full diagnostics and no issues. Decided to try and update BIOS - went from A04 (factory) to A06 to A10. This caused most issues to clear up or at least become more infrequent.

Meantime, R4 #2 worked perfectly fine during the #1 issues. After the weekend, come into the office to find #2 exhibiting exact same issues as we experienced with #1. Chunky user experience, occasional neverending bootup, etc. Decided to update BIOS as we had with #1. Attempted to install A06 as intermediate step to A10/A11... but 2/3 of the way through process, computer hard locks and after giving ample time for it to work itself out had no choice but to power off using button. From there, computer will not POST or show anything on monitor. No beeps, no case lights other than white light illuminating CD drive and card reader. Fans do not spool up to normal levels.

Pulled BIOS battery and reset CMOS jumper to no effect. I've seen some forum posts about being able to load a fresh BIOS via flash drive but the one I'm looking at ( -17-m17x/601701-bios-recovery-case-you-brick-your-m17x-r3.html) seems notebook-tailored and I'm unable to even do the first step of extracting the .FD file from any of the BIOS exe files available from Dell.

I'm sure the mobo is bricked, but I'm hoping that I can do something to get it to boot up again short of replacing it. Then perhaps I can get back to the work of finding out why the computer was behaving so strangely to begin with... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I attempted to troubleshoot as you indicated. Switched the DVI cable to each of the three outputs with no change in behavior. CAPS LOCK and NUM LOCK on the keyboard did not illuminate any lights. No standard light on the bottom of the mouse, either. The optical drive will open and shut, but the fans on the computer are almost totally quiet and there are still no beeps or other indicators, or signal to the monitor.

Hi Naomi. I came across this conversation because I also have the Aurora R4 with the 07JNH0 motherboard, and ran into the same issue as mvs6f. I had a bad graphics card (NVIDIA GTX 555 ti) and proceeded to replace it with an NVIDIA GTX 750 ti. Once the new graphics card was in, the video distortion on the monitor cleared up and I thought I was done, but the BIOS startup froze near completion and would just hang with the display going dark. I contacted support for the NVIDIA GPU (EVGA) who suggested that I upgrade the BIOS. I was running on BIOS A03 and the latest was A11, so when I tried to update to A11, I got a message to update to A05 before going to A11. So, using my old video card and still having distortion problems on the display, I managed to install A05. Still with the old NVIDIA 555, I tried to update to A11. At this point the computer froze while trying to get A11 in and only a hard power off was possible. Upon restarting the computer, I now had a new problem. The power came up but no BIOS loading or anything else on the display, and about 10 seconds later the power shut off on its own. This is the state the system is in right now. I also have tried to remove the BIOS battery and drain the capacitors, but I was not able to go to the previous state of power up. Is it time for a new motherboard you think, or can I try something else? I intend to do the power drain procedure to see if it does anything. Any suggestions would be helpful.
