Important Notice: Effective September 7, 2012 Twitter has released version 1.1 of the Twitter API. At the same time, version 1.0 of the API is officially deprecated. XML and RSS formats are no longer supported in the v1.1 API. Twitter is providing a 6 month window before turning off v1.0. Starting March 5th, 2013, the 1.0 endpoints will no longer be available. As a result, the v1.0 API endpoints will no longer be available through the SuperTweet.net API at the same time they are removed at Twitter. For more information from Twitter see:
Again, XML and RSS which a lot of people use, in particular Rainmeter users, will STOP WORKING March 5th, 2013 or whenever Twitter shuts off the older API.
This is not to say that Twitter won't decide to kill the SuperTweet API before that date. Bear in mind that the Supertweet API operates "at the pleasure of Twitter Inc." The rules can change at any time. I don't think anyone knows what apps are safe. We think the SuperTweet API provides a valuable service to Twitter and the Twitter developer community but, as has been the case from day one, Twitter could shut down the SuperTweet.net API without notice any time at their discretion. We all use the SuperTweet API at our own risk, same as using the Twitter API directly.
