Paper on superpermutations and variations

Last year, Vince Vatter and I wrote a paper surveying results on superpermutations and other variants of them. The paper was published in The American Mathematical Monthly and is open-access and available here: https://doi.org/10.1080/00029890.2021.1835384

It contains a simplified proof that any superpermutation must have length at least n! + (n-1)! + (n-2)! + n - 3.
