Odd cursor glitch

I've noticed that while editing Characteristics for a Factor, the
cursor goes all wonky. After about half the first line, it starts
appearing on top of or before the letter I've just typed instead of
after it, which is making editing the text a headache. Is this just a
bug, or might the program have an issue with the font I'm using?
By the way, this problem is happening in SNCS 1.7.50 for Mac, with the
project font set to Arial Unicode MS.
