JUST RELEASED: Before Sci Fi's "Ghost Hunter's," The Travel
Channel's "Most Haunted" and TLC's "Dead Tenants" there was
the Spiritualist who challenged their own beliefs by using science to
prove life after death. One of the earliest tools used for spiritual
communication was known as "table tipping" or "table turning."
It's the process by which a spirit communicates with the living by
the movement of a table. Guests are going to have a chance to
"communicate" with life after death at a special Table Tipping
program on Saturday evening hosted by Spiritualist Tim Shaw.
Investigators are encouraged to set up their video and audio recorders
as they themselves take part in this interactive program. You are in
control of this - you may be surprised by the evidence you find.

NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES BY STEVEN SALATINO, WESTERN NEW YORK PARANORMAL
For the most part my experiences with the paranormal have been
relatively positive. Even when investigating homes, etc. when the
spirit beings encountered aren't overly pleasant, I still find the
experiences non-threatening. But there are those times when you come
across something pure evil, perhaps demonic.
My most notable experience came to me when I was house hunting for my
first home. My realtor had scheduled about 11 houses for us to go
through in one day, so we had to make quick time of looking at each
house, and then move on to the next. One particular house was listed as
a home with "in law accommodations" when in reality it was a house
that had been divided into two separate apartments. The house seemed
fine, but nothing I was interested in. But since the homeowner and his
realtor were there, we went through the motions. Each unit was 2
stories, and after looking at the front unit, we moved on to the back
unit.
Upon entering I felt like I suddenly was on auto pilot. I immediately
walked to the basement door, down to the far end of the basement, which
was subdivided into rooms....completely submerged in darkness, and
turned on a light in the room I was in. There was no way I could have
consciously walked through that basement in the dark without tripping
over things, nor could I have found the pull string for the light. I
truly felt that I was brought to that spot by something in the house.
There wasn't anything noteworthy in the room, and I pretty much
snapped out of it and was a bit frightened about being there. I heard
the realtors and home owner calling for me to see where I was, and I
went back up to the first floor and joined them. At that point we
started looking at the other rooms.
Once in the room that was now used for a living room, I encountered the
evil in this house. The only way to describe the sensation I had was it
felt like a bucket of liquid was poured over my head ... and it was
pure evil. No other way to describe it. At that moment I turned around
and exited the house, without a word to anyone. My realtor came out and
asked what was wrong, and said that all the color had washed out of my
face. I didn't feel comfortable sharing my experience with her, but
it took the entire day for me to shake that horribly negative feeling.
That was years ago and certainly long before I became a member of the
WNY Paranormal team. At the time I had no idea what I had encountered,
I wasn't searching for it and I feel it searched me out. I knew I had
picked up on things in the past, but this experience caused me to
repress my capabilities for sometime after that. Now that I'm with
this group, I am learning more and more about the forces that are out
there and the care that must be taken when dealing with them. My
spiritual background and beliefs have instilled a fear of evil forces
and the belief you keep yourself away from it, and away from the
discussion and knowledge sharing about them. However, I have come to
realize it's critical to know and understand what we can about evil
and demonic presences, and how to protect ourselves from them. And with
knowledge comes power.

GHOSTS OF WAR BY RICHARD KIMMEL
Old soldiers never die - they haunt the medals, weapons, and clothes
they wore in battle. World War II memorabilia collector and paranormal
investigator Richard Kimmel has discovered three artifacts that project
psychic energy generated by servicemen during the horror of battle. His
research proves the emotional trauma of war survives the deaths of the
brave men and women who fell in combat.
Kimmel used two paranormal techniques to conduct his research, reveals
a new book, Ghosts of War by Jeff Belanger.
One method is a version of dowsing, usually used to locate water, but
which can also detect high levels of psychic energy. The other is
psychometry, the ability of experienced and sensitive psychics to
uncover details of the lives of people from objects they owned.
In one instance, Kimmel used a pendulum made from a small, wooden cross
as a dowser to sense paranormal energy in a fragment of a Sherman tank
that had been blown up during the Battle of the Bulge, Belanger
reports.
When he held his pendulum over the shattered piece of metal, it began
to rotate wildly.
An accomplished psychomotrist, who knew nothing about the object,
identified exactly what it was and where it came from. She also sensed
the courage of the rank's crew as they faced death.
"She told me there were men running around yelling." Kimmel says
"Some had a grayish-type uniform, others had green uniforms - she
was describing to me German and U.S. forces."
The psychomotrist had a strong impression of the bravery of four or
five men, members of the tank's crew.
"This tank was blown to pieces and there were chunks of armor plating
only the size of your first that were found" Kimmel says.
The second artifact that responded positively to Kimmel's pendulum
was a swastika wore as a necklace by a German soldier, and the third, a
gas mask, revealed the terror of a Japanese combatant facing a chemical
weapons attack on Palau Island in the Pacific Ocean.
In this case, the psychic energy was so strong that a previous owner of
the mask heard the frightened soldier screaming for help in a heavily
accented Japanese-English.
CLASSIC SIGNS OF A HAUNTING BY DWAYNE CLAUD, WESTERN NEW YORK
PARANORMAL
The noise you just heard, was it something you imagined? You're
positive you placed your keys on the countertop but now they're gone.
And last night, was that a figure you seen from the corner of your eye
or was it just lack of sleep making you imagine things? Everyone
questions what they see, feel, and hear sometimes - not every home is
haunted but there are some classic signs that you can look for before
calling in an investigator to check things out.
The important fact to keep in mind is that you need to rule out
everything that is possible leaving only what is impossible. Once
you've done that, here are some things to look for in a classic
haunting...
1.Unexplained noises such as banging, rapping, knocking, things being
moved, or dropped.
2.Doors or cupboards being repeatedly opened and/or closed - this can
be seen, heard or both.
3.Things being moved around anything from furniture to car keys
normally kept on the kitchen counter showing up under
the couch.
4.Objects moving or levitating dinner dishes being moved across the
table or glasses etc. Seeming to pick themselves up.
5.Electrical problems Lights turning themselves off/on, or televisions
changing channels - There have been cases of TV's
and radios playing while they are unplugged. Also any unusual
flickering of the lights or unexplained "streaks of light"
being seen.
6.Animals behaving strangely dogs, cats, even birds may seem afraid or
seem to be attacking something unseen.
7.Unexplained shadows having form and/or moving.
8.New batteries losing their charge and suddenly die with little or no
use.
9.Unusual noises such as the sound of footsteps when no one is around
or unexplained voices, most likely very muffled or
whispers. You may hear moaning or crying very clearly, or if you have
ever had an unexplained voice or "animal type
growl" show up on video or audio tape recoded in the house or area.
10.Feelings of being watched or touched. You may experience an
overwhelming feeling that you are not alone when you
know you are or may feel a sensation of being touched by a cold unseen
hand. You may feel as though someone is
sitting or lying next to you (possibly even see an imprint of a person)
but no one is there.
11."Glimpses of things out of the corner of your eye" this can be
anything from white spots that seem to be there until you
turn and look to dark shadowy figures.
12.Cold or hot spots, these may appear in the same spot all the time or
can move around a house or area.
13.Strange smells or odors. Any odor you know is not common for the
area such as cigar/pipe smoke, unusual colognes,
a smell of rot or of flowers.
14.Unexplained bruises or scratches, these may appear anywhere on the
body.
15.Apparitions, of course the most undeniable sign of a haunting is an
actual apparition. Ghosts can appear in many
forms. They can range from a solid or transparent person to only a head
or part of a body. This includes misty or
smoky apparitions or streaks or balls of light (the balls of light are
usually referred to as orbs). Also, if any of these
things have ever turned up on photos or video taken in the area.
16. Young children acting like they're "tracking" objects across a
room.
17. Unexplained nightmares that seem real.
Once you are absolutely certain that you have ruled out all of the
natural phenomenon which could have caused the events in your home,
then look for a qualified group of paranormal professionals to come in
and research your home. These specialists can help you understand what
is in your home through psychic, scientific and historical research.
