Hi
This month's event on February 27th (Location to be advised) is being curated by Paul Callaghan. In Paul's own words ...
Super learning
When you want to learn some new skills or take your current skills to the next level, what can you do?
Books, blogs and webcasts are ok. Local user groups also help. Some people try universities or colleges. But are there other options?
The next Supermondays is going to explore these questions, and maybe kick-start a few initiatives in the region.
We'll cover:
* what do you people want to learn? * what can you do to help others learn? * mentoring, ladders, and study groups * what's happening in schools (yes, the Gove thing) * lots of discussion
We'll have a few external speakers to kick the discussion off, including entrepreneur, designer, and former lecturer Morna Simpson (http://linkd.in/yrlA49) who will introduce her new FlockEdu initiative, and Mark Mullis from the Middlesbrough City Learning Centre (http://www.mclc.org.uk/) who aims to set up a Youth Coding Academy.
If you too would like to share relevant experiences or ideas, please get in contact with Paul Callaghan via paulc...@gmail.com
Also watch the Supermondays mailing list for related discussion.
The sign-up page will appear tomorrow along with a supermondays.org posting, so keep an eye out on the list.
