The Human Resources Specialist will report to the Manager, Human Resources and will be primarily responsible for the overall administration and coordination of all Human Resource related activities for the Canadian operations.
Responsibilities Include:

Key Requirements include:
· Knowledge of HR best practices.
· Degree and/or certification in Human Resources Management.

iii. Ensure payroll records are organized and maintained in an orderly manner, which will provide clear audit trails.
iv. Data entry for semi-monthly payroll processing, into the HRIS and payroll system including but not limited to: new hires, compensation changes (including quarterly bonuses), issue sick leave pay, process leave of absences, etc.
v. Assist in creating payroll reports as required for Accounting and Executives
Qualifications/Education:
• Post-Secondary degree is a must
• Working towards or completed CHRP designation is an asset
• Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation is an asset
• Superior attention to detail and accuracy and excellent follow-up skills.

Your key accountabilities:
• Administer and audit hourly and salaried payroll for approximately 700 staff ensuring timely and accurate payment.
• Data entry for all time and attendance and personnel transactions such as new hire, termination, leave of absence, benefits deductions, garnishments, etc.
• Process vendor transactions including, flexible spending, 401(k), State and Federal taxes, including quarter and year-end reconciliations, and gross to net calculation, audit and balancing.
• Prepare monthly financial accruals, and reconciliations of all payroll related accounts, and work with the Finance team to facilitate same.
• Process benefits related payroll impacting matters, and incentive based compensation for sales and service teams.
• Prepare compliance reports and filings to meet regulatory needs such as payroll tax remittances, and reconcile remittances and filings.
• Provides business group with clear and concise interpretation of Payroll and Benefits policy and procedures, and serve as the primary point for payroll inquiries, and respond in a timely manner.
• Liaise with the Finance group and auditors providing support and information as needed.
• Ensure appropriate action is taken with all incoming correspondence related to payroll and statutory remittances are addressed in a timely manner to meet all regulatory obligations.
• Continuously identify and implement process improvement opportunities that improve accuracy levels in all areas of end to end processes within the scope of Payroll Administration to near flawless levels, and that adhere to legislative and compliance standards.
• Administer all Year End payroll related processes including but not limited to W2 requests, reconciliations and YE reporting.
• Prepare payroll reports for multiple divisions within JE to monitor Wages and Benefits Cost.
• Ensure legislative standards are applied to all orders for Deductions at Source and respond to inquiries from Government Agencies relating to these orders.
Your background includes:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similarly situated role
• Post-secondary education required, with a University Degree preferred
• Completion of American Payroll Association Certification, and preferred is CPA as well.
• Advanced knowledge of US payroll practices, and related legislation primarily for TX, NY, PA; preferred to have exposure to UK payroll as well; coupled with experience in Tax compliance legislation.
• Advanced knowledge of payroll processing systems, particularly ADP Pay Expert Web based payroll software, time and attendance software, and familiarity with HR information systems
• Preferred is experience in accounting, with specific focus on General Ledger accounting, balancing, reconciliation, billing, and related functions as they pertain to the effective operations of the payroll function.
• Exemplifies a service-oriented mindset and responsiveness to employee inquiries
