Dear friends and colleagues,

Today is the birthday of Valentin Turchin (1931-2010).

We are happy that we met him when we were young and he greatly influenced our lives. His evolutionary philosophy and deep scientific achievements taught us to be optimistic and creative, to believe that each of us can make significant contributions to the future of mankind if we don't afraid of posing big goals and working hard towards their accomplishment. We have lots to do to further develop his legacy and bring his ideas and results to the wider scientific community.
