His stunt team along with Yao Xingtong are in Moscow filming already. Jackie is not expected film in Russia, but in China. No announcement has been made what role Jackie is playing.

Ok so Jackie is apparently NOT filming KungFu Yoga this year - he is starting a film 《铁道飞虎》in June or Skiptrace will be released in June, then he will start filming 《铁道飞虎》 (no English translation, no information available.)

In the latest interview Jackie said that he will start shooting "Railroad Tiger" which plays in the 30s next month. I think it could be the Manhattan movie wihich was mentioned in 2013 with Huayi Brothers producing

Railroad Tiger is the Google translation of 《铁道飞虎》 I'm fairly sure that is not the correct title, or correct translation. It is not the Manhattan movie which was a cop movie set in NY. This is a movie based on a very popular folk song. The song writer is one of the screen writers. There was one mention of it being green lighted at the end of March, but no other details of the movie are available.

Kung Fu Yoga - not sure what is happening. There is no talk about it anywhere. There is usually some talk about a movie when it is pre-production which it should be if they are starting to film in a few months. Casting calls go out etc. There is stunning silence. This is not a good sign they will be filming soon.

There is a script for Chinese Zodiac 2 in development.

Jackie also mentioned that there were script issues for Karate Kid 2 and that they were on the 4th or 5th version of the script while he was in Udine. So don't expect that soon either.

A cameo appearance in Viy 2 is a possibility. The crew (that JC Stunt Team) told Russian fans that Jackie would be in the movie.

this is the song the movie is based on. It is called 《睡在我上铺的兄弟》by  Gao Xiaosong

The movie is said to be a 'youth' movie about college students which I think is because the lyrics of the song in which one student falls in love with another and his whole world 'wakes up'.

From imdb:

During press conference at Far East Film Festival in Italia, Jackie Chan said next movie is Railroad Tiger.

Produced by China Film Group, the movie is a remake of 1956 "Railroad Guerilla" a war movie tells the story of coal miners and railway workers who joined a guerilla against the Japanese along the Lin-Zao railway line in Shandong province during the Anti-Japanese War.

Railroad Tiger should be directed by chinese director Ding Sheng (Little Big Soldier, Police Story 2013).

Filming scheduled next month, if all goes well.

The movie is not a remake of Railroad Guerilla - there is a remake of Railroad Guerrilla but it has already finished filming and has nothing to do with Jackie. The movie Jackie is making was written by Ding Sheng. There are no details about the movie available.

Jackie spoke about upcoming movie projects at FEFF17:

I think that, in a way, I have already planned the next eight years of my life, almost. Next month, I will start a film called "Railroad Tiger" or something like that. Later on, the title might change... I just translated literally "Railroad Tiger"... Then, I'm doing a Kung Fu yoga film in India, and after that, "Civilian" and the director will probably be Peter Segal and then probably something with Michael Campbell and then again something with Daniel Lee; then "Chinese Zodiac 2" with myself directing again and after that, "Police Story 2."

There are just so many things going on! I think that I just like the challenge! Every movie is different! I want the audience to see every year a different Jackie Chan. This year, at Christmas, "Skiptrace" will be released. It's an action comedy with Johnny Knoxville. And, for "The Karate Kid 2," right now, it's almost the third or fourth draft and Will Smith is concentrating very seriously on it. Every time he gives me a call and says that the script is almost ready, I tell him, "Hurry up! Otherwise, your young son will be taller than me!" Also, there's probably a "Shanghai Dawn" coming to and "Rush Hour 4" -- no, I'm just joking!

CIVILIAN:

Jim Lee (Jackie Chan), a seemingly average Joe salesman and his inexperienced trainee are on the way to DEF-CON 2014, the largest weapons convention for the global arms community. Jim doesn’t peddle or even like the vast array of weapons on view at the convention - he sees himself more as a provider of defense aids and protection. All that changes once the conference is in full-swing and a group of terrorists infiltrate the convention from the inside, taking hostages and threatening to detonate a massive bomb that can wipe out an entire city if they do not receive a ransom of $500 million. Jim and his trainee must use their wits and the large arsenal of available tools to survive and take down the terrorists. From action legend Jackie Chan (Rush Hour franchise, The Karate Kid franchise, Shanghai Noon), studio director Peter Segal (Grudge Match, Get Smart, Tommy Boy, Longest Yard, 50 First Dates), and blockbuster producer Basil Iwanyk (Clash of the Titans franchise, The Town, Firewall), comes a tour-de-force action spectacle about an ordinary man who, under dire circumstances, rises to the occasion to save innocent civilians and gets a shot at being a hero.

CHINESE ZODIAC 2:

I do know that work is being done on the script for Chinese Zodiac 2 so that is a project that is definitely happening.

KARATE KID 2

The script issues have been around for a while and still seem to be there from what Jackie said. This may take a while and/or not happen.

MOVIE WITH MICHAEL CAMPBELL

No idea what that might be. Perhaps the Manhattan movie??? That seems a likely candidate.

KUNG FU YOGA

well that still seems to be on the slate.

That is great news. I hope Jackie Chan will keep making more films and they really don't have to be martial art films. I love many of his films that really isn't all about fighting. Above it stated that there are films in the making no
less than for the next 8 yrs but I also heard him say in one of the interviews that he wants to retire in about 5 yrs. I know, he has often said he would stop and I hope (again) he only meant big action movies like Dragon Blade and CZ.

I'm afraid we have to wait a long, long time for Skiptrace to come out, though it's almost May already. Hope Dragon Blade will soon have it's European premiere. It there any info about how it was received at the Udine festival?

Thank you for the update.

Jackie has been saying "5 years" for the last 20 years - at least so I don't take his '5 years' very seriously.

Skiptrace was not shown at the Far East Film Festival in Udine - they showed Young Master and Dragon Blade

I know LOL, I think (and hope) Jackie Chan won't stop for a long time. He seems so fit as well.

I coudn't find anything about how Dragon Blade was received in Udine. As Jackie Chan was at the opening and (as I understood it) Dragon Blade was the opening film, I expected to get some news about it and not just about Jackie Chan's visit.

the only feedback I know about is what Jackie said on Weibo in that it seems like the language of the film is international because he saw that many people in the audience were moved to tears by the film which was very rewarding for him and Daniel Lee to see.

So Kungfu Yoga definitely NOT happening this year. Production on Railroad Tigers only to start in October.

EXCLUSIVE: Hong Kong-based Golden Network Asia has picked up international rights to Jackie Chan’s next project, $50m action comedy Railroad Tigers, to be directed by Ding Sheng.

Set in China in 1941, the film will star Chan as a railroad worker heading a team of freedom fighters who use their extensive knowledge of the train network to ambush Japanese forces and steal food for starving Chinese.

Investors in the film include Sparkle Roll Media Corporation, Shanghai Film Group, Beijing Going Zoom Media and Shanghai New Culture Media Group.

Scheduled to start production in October, the film aims to revive the spirit of classic Chan comedies such as Project A and Drunken Master II, but with a bigger budget and more elaborate action sequences.

Ding recently launched Beijing Going Zoom Media and previously worked with Chan on hits Little Big Soldier and Police Story 2013.

Railroad Tigers is being lined up for release in October 2016, around the time of China’s National Day holidays.

Chan scored a massive hit earlier this year with historical action film Dragon Blade, also starring Adrien Brody and John Cusack, which grossed $130m in Asia and will screen as one of the first titles on the new Lionsgate Premiere label. Railroad Tigers reunites some of the investors in that film.

Ok so in typical movie - don't count your chickens until someone says 'rolling' - fashion Kungfu Yoga is apparently going into production 'soon'.

Also Shanghai Dawn is looking for a scriptwriter - which, as we have seen with Karate Kid 2 (and others) means - wait and see.

Well worse - we have Jackie saying 'June' and the press saying 'October' for Railroad Tiger and both 'soon' and 'August' for Kungfu Yoga - so take your pick. I don't make guesses until something actually starts filming.

Hi Eyüp

Welcome!

Jackie is already in London filming. He will probably be there until the end of February / mid-March before going to India for about 10 days to finish filming Kung Fu Yoga.

I will say that security on set seems to be very tight as no-one is getting really close, and they also seem to be filming all over the place, one day here, one day there. I think it will be very difficult to find out where they are filming on any day in advance.

??? nothing on imdb but never saw the monkey king before there either. In 2 weeks he will be in Cannes and I think he will be busy promoting Skiptrace as well. He also has to film with Jason Statham but no idea for what film. I am sure he will be busy with something. :-)

There is an unconfirmed rumour Jackie is filming with Jason Statham who is filming a US-Chinese production (something with sharks) in China at the moment. They are also expected to start filming Expendables 4 soon also with Jason Statham. It is possible Stallone finally talked Jackie into a role in Expendables.

Other than that there are the usual old possibilities hanging around - there is talk of a movie with Zhang Yimou. Chinese Zodiac 2 is in script development.

I think that with so many movies coming out over the next few months you will find that Jackie will be occupied with promoting them.

Certainly nothing is happening soon. He is going to Le Mans in June. And he also hasn't done any charity work for a while and he always does some charity work inbetween filming. So expect him to do that as well.

The Monkey Movie is a Chinese movie that came out a year or two back and has finally got an American release deal so it has to be dubbed into English. It was previously release with English subtitles, but now they are doing an English audio for it.

According to Impact Magazine Jackie is filming scenes for VIY2 which I'm pleased about - his participation was stalled in discussions for a long time.

He is also filming the sci-fi film in China and Australia which was previously reported with Jackie producing not starring in so something changed there as well. It was also filming in Korea ... so big changes.

Proof once again that nothing in the movie industry is set in stone until someone says 'roll camera' and even then things can change.
