Hello to the SuperCard community in mourning,

Some weeks ago, after having some success in reconfiguring old HTML pages with their accompanying CSS files using the free version of ChatGPT with Safari, and after consulting a website where the webmaster was conducting experiments by 'feeding' or 'training' ChatGPT with books by a particular author to see how ChatGPT would answer questions with the knowledge and style of this author, the examples of answers provided by the webmaster for his sessions with this particular AI seemed relevant and interesting.

I thought, why don't we do the same with SuperCard by 'feeding' the AI engine with the latest user manuals, technical data, sample scripts, and projects? As Mark has shown with his experiments that he shared on this forum, maybe after some training of the AI and the interrogator, developing some methods of conversations with the engine, the AI can become a helpful assistant for users of all levels.

Can we, as a group, explore this possibility?

Hello

With curiosity and skepticism about the quality of scripting of ChatGPT after the experiments of some months ago, I've decided to have a new conversation with the engine, this was some weeks ago:

Me: Which is the highest version of SuperCard are you familiar with?

GPT: As of my last update in 2023, SuperCard 4.8 was the latest version available. SuperCard is a development environment for creating interactive multimedia applications on macOS. If there have been any updates or new releases beyond 4.8, you might want to check the official SuperCard website or other relevant sources for the most current information.

Me: Are you using the SuperCard 4.8 latest enhancements for your coding?

GPT: I don't have the ability to directly use or incorporate specific software like SuperCard 4.8 in my operations. However, I can provide guidance, advice, and code examples based on my training data. If you need assistance with specific features or coding examples for SuperCard 4.8, feel free to ask!

Me: Are you using the SuperCard 4.8 latest enhancements for your guidance?

GPT: As of my last update in 2023, SuperCard 4.8 was the latest version available. SuperCard is a development environment for creating interactive multimedia applications on macOS. If there have been any updates or new releases beyond 4.8, you might want to check the official SuperCard website or other relevant sources for the most current information.

Me: Which is the highest version of SuperCard are you familiar with?

GPT: While I don't directly use software, I can certainly provide guidance based on the features and enhancements of SuperCard 4.8 if you're looking for help with that. Some of the key enhancements in SuperCard 4.8 include:
  1. 64-bit Compatibility: Support for macOS Catalina and later, which require 64-bit applications.
  2. Improved Script Editor: Enhanced script editor with syntax coloring and auto-completion.
  3. Retina Display Support: Better support for high-resolution displays.
  4. Enhanced Graphics and Media Handling: Improvements in handling graphics, images, and media files.
  5. Updated Libraries and APIs: Access to updated libraries and APIs for modern macOS features.

If you need guidance or examples that leverage these enhancements, let me know, and I can tailor my assistance accordingly.

Me: Is SuperCard 4.8 64 bits compatible?

GPT: Yes, SuperCard 4.8 is 64-bit compatible. This version was updated to support macOS Catalina and later versions, which require 64-bit applications. This ensures that SuperCard can run on modern macOS systems without issues related to 32-bit application support.

Me: How should be called SuperCard users, SuperCarders or SuperCardians?

GPT: There isn't an official term for SuperCard users, but either "SuperCarders" or "SuperCardians" could work. "SuperCarders" seems more straightforward and directly linked to the product name, while "SuperCardians" has a slightly more playful and community-oriented feel. Ultimately, it's a matter of preference. You could also see if there is a commonly accepted term within the SuperCard user community.

Well, I am not sure if this is encouraging, but it is not a reason to give up hope! At least, I am learning something new!
