Hi All,

After quite some many years away from the discussion group I am re-joining.  It has always been my habit to block all Google properties, and when the discussion moved to Google Groups I had to make a hard decision.  I have, however continued to be a constant SC user.

Like many of you, it became suspicious when the SC website vanished, so I've been here reading recent posts and trying to get current.

I never met Scott personally but am deeply impacted by the loss, and I'm sure nothing compared to others (especially you Mark.)

More questions and curiosities soon, but for now just wanted to reconnect and say hi.
Greg

Hello Greg,
Good to hear from you. These are difficult days and as you said, especially for Mark.
Am I remembering correctly about you and poker and Texas being associated?
What sort of Mac are you using to run SuperCard today? I would like to use SuperCard more but I haven’t got any decent hardware here that I’ve been able to make compatible with it.
Little by slow,

Hi Dan - not me from Texas, but I seem to recall someone from there working on a large SC-based online gambling setup.
As for Macs, I have some old CPU's still capable, and also virtualize some older OS's inside Ventura with Virtual Box.  I have an old app I still keep running.

Hi Dan,

Texas must be somebody else.
As to what sort of macs I'm using, I have some old macs that can run native and also have success with Virtual Box in Ventura.
I have an old 2.6G 2012 Mini that boots from an external SSD that seems to be an excellent native experience.  OWC still sells them cheap.  Sierra can boot from a thunderbolt raid, which is zippy :)

Hi Greg,
This is the first email that I’ve sent from this MacBook Pro 15” 2018 Intel which I bought 2 weeks ago. Early today I succeeded in creating a bootable installer of macOS Mojave within one of two volumes within the GUID - HFS+ structure of a Samsung T7 External SSD, and then used it to install Mojave 10.14.6 within a new prebuilt GUID - APFS volume named, “macOS Mojave”, ’next-to’ the "mac” volume with Catalina 10.15.?6 and the volume “Mac -data"  on the Internal SSD.

So. Mojave is up and running natively, next find the Supercard stuff (smile, hopefully)…
Mojave is the Correct Color (green) on the graphic of Internal SSD Container of volumes.
(See attached image)
That’s appropriate
Little by slow,
-Dan

Hi Dan, definitely no connection with me and Texas.
For Macs, I have success with Virtual Box on Ventura for all things VM.  I also have some old Macs (2011 iMacs and 2012 Minis) that boot all the relevant OS's.  I boot those mostly from external thunderbolt instead of the slower internal drives.
