Bad Star ID error reported

Does anyone solved the problem I am facing :  "Bad Star ID error reported. File maybe damaged, please use a backup" ?

I tried to open with SuperEdit, but I obtained the same error message

Thank you Joe for your message and the project enclosed  : Bad STAR ID Recovery.proj
Unfortunately it does not work. On a first try I obtained the same message error i.e." Bad Star ID......",  a .bak file  of only 5 Ko is created and also a .log file of 0 byte.
Now, in this situation, if I retry I get the following message : "The  log for "name of my project" contains no entries, either the fist card or first window is corrupt. Would you like to continue ?"
When I continue I get the new message : "Would you like to start with the next card or the next window ?. Whatever is my answer (Card or Window) I always get the same message  : "Bad Star ID reported....."

if you have a better solution......

Hi guys, I'm so glad to see guys still visiting this site, or at least you have recently. It so happens I have the same problem as mentioned above. I put a slight modification into the script of a fld in my big project ( which I've been using since we were drawing on cave walls.) I'm very rusty at 83, and forgot to insert quotes. As a result my project hung and I had to force quit it. So now I'm getting the dreaded Bad star ID error. I don't have an up to date copy to fall back on of course, and I've been doing soooooo much work lately! Do I have to lose it all? Can anyone help me out of this mess? I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions..

I discovered that some of the AIs can program in Supercard Superscript though you have to keep them focused on it.  I post the error message, the line stopped in and the section stopped in along with the script so far and it often pegs the problem. I'm an amateur, unlike most of you, but it's a godsend for me.

Thanks Terry, but I’m way more of an amateur than anyone else who might read this! And at 83 I find it hard to pick up new tricks these days. Sadly I wouldn’t know where to find, or how to access an AI. Are they free to use on line?

Search ChatGPT. I use that but other AIs to try are Copilot, Claude, Grok, Meta, DeepSeek, Perplexity and Gemini.  Just search one of those names and AI and it should link you to their sits, mostly free.  I love it. It's a new world.

Well, I didn't get very far with AI. Copilot was inaccessible (some kind of meltdown?), To get to Claude I had to sign into Google - and then sign into Google - and then sign... I've been using Google for decades, and I signed into this forum okay. But I guess like any other god, Google moves in mysterious ways.

Anyway I'm not optimistic about AI. I had one of these Bad Star disasters about 20 years ago, and not even the mighty Mark could get me past it. I seem to remember having to basically start the project again, reconstruct it from the debris. 

This time, fortunately for me (maybe) I found a copy of my project in my archives. It's way out of date, and a helluva lot's been added to it over the years, but it's all I can do. I just hope I haven't lost too much of the data that had been collected. Yes, I put a lot of the stuff in separate files, but this app interacts with everything. The more parts I try to fix, the more it finds ways to complicate matters. Fact is, I'm getting too old to get my head around all this stuff. But I'll keep trying. :)
