Just some notes that you may find helpful...

I have decided to organize the group in chronological order rather than to categorize topics. Folks posting to the wrong topics in the old forums was a maintenance nightmare. Instead we can use tags to assign topics to posts. I have included the following suggested tags: basics, scripting, project, externals and bug. Please let me know if you feel there should be others. I have also allowed users to assign their own custom tags for now. We'll see how that goes.

By default, new users will be emailed with new post notifications, which you can reply to via email. You can also start new topics by emailing supercard-talk at googlegroups dot com. If you don't want to receive email or would prefer digests, you can make those changes in your "Membership and email settings" in the "My Settings" popup near the top-right of the window.

You can also subscribe to a variety of RSS and ATOM feeds by clicking on "About" at the right of the section that contains the group name (you'll also find the group's email address in this section). The same area also has a "Tags" item that will allow you to instantly search for messages with a specific tag (tags can also be specified along with other search params in the "Search for messages" drop down).

That's about it for now... let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks Scott. I just emailed you the problem project and recipe for the SuperCard already in use problem. The version you sent the other day didn't fix it, hopefully you can reproduce the error and track it down from what I've sent.

Scott, thanks for all the work you have done on SuperCard and for the new forum.
May I suggest that the tags are still quite broad? Perhaps it would be helpful to add the categories in Concept Search from SuperCard Help as tags? These are still big categories, but having those as standard tags would help users filter to a lower level.
Blessings,
Kevin

Hi Kevin...

Welcome! Yeah, they're broad, and currently not required. My fear is that if we put up 30+ suggestions that they would just be ignored. I think it would be nice to have that kind of granularity, but I kinda wanna see what users do with tags (plus mods can always add them after the fact - and we could open that up to members as well).

Thanks Ian...

Did Mark get back to you with a new build?

Scott, I'm really glad to hear of your continued support for SuperCard and those of us who count on it.
Kinda sorry to see the migration to Google tho. Just logged in to the original site which is still up and running - will it remain active?

Afraid not. It will be shutdown on May 24th.

Hi Scott,
This isn't really a group post, but hoping you can help be get squared.   I've gotten trapped in a google group "bug".  I registered for the group using my work email address.  However, I have a couple of work email addresses by all my outgoing email goes through a server that slightly changes my email address (in this case, from my subscribing  address which contains "fio" in the address, to a nearly-identical address which differs only in lacking the "fio."   Mail addressed to my fio address reaches me, but all my outgoing mail get readdressed as sent from the other address.
Why does this matter.   Everything I send to the group bounces because I am not a member (since it arrives with the wrong email address).  How can I change my email address to the one that will work?
Steve

I don't think you can change an email associated with the group. Email me with the address you prefer, and I'll delete your account and send you a new invite.
