Hi Dan,

I haven't been able to reproduce that here, but I do have a theory about why it might be happening.

IIRC that copy of Help is just the 4.81 build with some tweaks to its enclosed main.sc45 project.

Here's a link to one with the latest unquarantining code. When you have a moment please let me know whether it fixes the crash at your end (and if not, please post the log again).

Thanks!
-Mark

Mark L.,

Just typing something and pressing enter triggered a crash. Can I send it privately?

Hi Mark,
(I inadvertently truncated the original  Discussion Thread Name  here - sorry)

*** There was no crash using the second SuperCard Help app; that's the larger one on the right in the attached image of side by side GET INFOs.

I also generated the "error to report" -> #SCCHPs2 when I clicked the "script" bookmark (since there was no SuperCard Help.app pkg in my Desktop folder. Do you (or did Scott) implement that mechanism in order to compare versions? other uses?
I found it interesting to think about SuperCard code utilizing paths penetrating packages, even though I had just used, "createinstallmedia" to build the bootable external Mojave installer, employing unix code in the terminal app.

Hi Dan,

I created Help's suite of custom indexing/search XFcns and did a quick cleanup pass through the scripts once (I'm not sure who originally wrote them) but like the rest of the RTE Scott usually maintained it.

It throws several such cryptic error messages when various important internal operations unexpectedly fail, which helpfully all omit any mention of the underlying SuperTalk error number.

So, um, maybe?

-Mark
