I am looking forward to the interaction that this site will bring. I am
wondering if anyone has tried to order a study book from amazon or chapters
yet.

I have ordered 20 member books from Amazon, but they haven't shipped yet.
Cecile had some pre-ordered but I don't know how many she has left.

If you sign up for the online study at lifeway.com
http://www.lifeway.com/bg/bg_index_page/0,2027,,00.html, you are able to
download and print the member workbook from there.

First Alliance Church has a bookstore, but I don't know what they have.

Welcome Sharon and Tania. I invite everyone who has joined to
encourage your friends from SunWest to visit and sign up. There may be
people I have missed if I don't have an email address, or haven't
checked their email yet!

Also a reminder that Tuesday is the first day for Ladie's Bible Break.
There is are options for morning, evening and online study. If you'd
like more info go to the What's Happening link and you can get more
details and join the community there.

Please feel free to post a personal introduction or items of specific
interest or encouragement to the women of SunWest. I do request that
this group <<not>> be used to "forward" email chains. If you are not
sure whether something would be appropriate to post here, forward it
to me personally and I'll let you know.

Thanks, Kathy!

I looked at my calendar and am thinking about hosting that Bake Swap
on Friday, Dec. 5th, from about 7-9pm. What do you think? How do I
go about posting this?

My goal is to encourage everyone to come and chat with someone they
have never met before. I want to make it very low-key.

I want each person to bring:

3 dozen goodies i.e. squares, Christmas cookies, or tarts (1 for
sampling, 2 for exchanging). These should be brought on disposable
plates or containers. One copy of the recipe should also be available
for 'allergy' questions, but if possible, I'd like to set up a way to
have these recipes available online on this website if people want it,
rather than having to copy it out there. Is that feasible?

Bring one empty Tupperware-type container to bring home 2 dozen
different goodies.
We will have one dozen goodies to share that evening and we'll all
take home 2 dozen in our Tupperware container.

Before leaving, each person will take home any extra of their own
sampling plate to add to their own take home 2 dozen.

I'd provide name tags, so we wouldn't have to ask names and this would
spare us the embarrassment of having to ask the name of someone we see
often, but happen to forget their name!

Do you think that 2 dozen+ is enough or should I say to bring 4 dozen
with 3 for exchange?

I'd appreciate any other insights or suggestions you might have for
the evening.

Call me if it's easier,
Sue

You've posted it by replying to this email! I have made your settings so you
can create a page titled "Bake Swap" (or whatever you like) in the What's
Happening section, if you would like. Or you can continue with this email
thread as a discussion, and everyone will be updated.

I don't know about the details, I haven't participated in one of these
before. It all sounds good to me. What about 2 - 4 dozen with people taking
home the same amount that they brought, whatever that was?

There are two ways to post recipes for the bake swap. If you make a 'page',
you can ask people to send you the recipes and you can add them on the page
using edit. Or you can start an email called "Bake Swap Recipes" in the
subject line for people to email in their recipes.

I'm not a big baker, can I buy stuff and bring it? (I guess I could pretend
that I bake two-bite brownies ;)

I think it sounds like fun. Thanks for doing it!

Kathy
