Hi Sunrise users,

I get some warnings during the sfrhist stage:

WARNING: 2 particles outside the compactness parameter range of the Groves templates (0 > max, 2 < min). If this number is large it is a problem.
WARNING: 32 particles outside the pressure range of the Groves templates (0 > max, 32 < min). If this number is large it is a problem.

As far as I understand some physical condition in the simulation are outside the MappingsIII template. I'm pretty sure I'm using the correct units.
Do you have an idea if some other parameters could be wrong? I run on Gadget snapshots, and I get almost the same error with different implementation of feedback.
After I run the simulation, when I plot the BPT diagram I also get "weird" emission line ratios.

Another question: I'm trying to use the kinematic, but in order to do this I must have the SED in log wavelength. Is there an option to do this in the parameter files or I should do it manually?

Thanks for the help!
Giovanni

Hi Giovanni,

I'm not sure about the kinematics, but [and someone please correct me if I'm wrong here] the Groves template errors oftentimes arise the fact that the Mappings SEDs can be parameterized in terms of their compactness, which is dependent on both stellar cluster masses and ISM pressures.   If the pressures are very large in your systems (are they starbursts/mergers of some sort?) then you can exceed the values in the Mappings templates.

There's a bit of a discussion about this in a paper that I wrote with a few people on this list in section 2.2.2 of:  http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2010MNRAS.407.1701N

Hey guys,

just a quick note: there are high-res Mappings files for kinematics
runs on the downloads page.

Cheers,

Hi Giovanni,

How many particles with age <10 Myr are in the run? If the number is >>32, then this shouldn't be a concern.

It would be good if you shared the full sfrhist output.

Cheers,

Chris
