Hello everyone,

Nabil Freij who has been a very active member of our community and our
release manager since the v0.7.7 release in March 2017 and deputy lead
developer since we created that role, has decided to step back from
working on SunPy.

Before I go on, I want to thank Nabil very much for all his
contributions. During the time Nabil has been a very active member of
the community the amount of time I have had to work on SunPy has
decreased. Without all his efforts, especially doing the releases,
working with new contributors, and fighting valiantly with our CI and
testing infrastructure, the progress of SunPy's development would have
noticeably slowed.

As Nabil is stepping back, Will Barnes has volunteered to take over
from him as deputy lead developer. I hope that everyone will support
Will in taking on more responsibility for the development of SunPy and
thank him for dedicating his time to the project.

Finally, I have been working on writing descriptions of various other
roles that need to be filled for the development of SunPy to prosper.
Nabil and I have been filling many of these (at least to some extent)
for the last few years. When I send these around in the near future I
hope that we will have some other volunteers to help out with the
development of SunPy.

Thanks,
Stuart
