I came across a blog about making a Gandhi scrapbook with children. http://ourgandhiscrapbook.blogspot.com/

We could try doing a Kabir scrapbook.

No, not a cut-copy-paste job. Something more meaningful and engaging for the children.

Interested schools could take this up as a project. And the work that comes out of this could be exhibited at a Kabir festival.

nice  chintan.. you sure are having fun..  the old fashioned me feels  .. though the  physical scrap book i have to say is far far more exciting .. nothing to beet touchy feely stuff. working with hands and craft  stuff.. . as compared to internet based stuff..

in fact we have session in our school workshop  in pravah s   which basically is  mkaing a  construct of who you are..  with scrap..  whatever is lying around in the room.. its something like installation art.. and for some reason  that session was called kabir making.. i never ever thought about the title.. wonder where it came from and whats the orginal concept.. basically its reflecting  deep about yourself and then creating something  out of real world materials    and once made to watch 'yourself.. or the kabir in you' from a distance..

love
ash

Hi Ashraf

I agree with you about the physical scrapbook that one can touch and feel.

I meant to suggest only the scrapbook idea. That it is internet-based seemed purely incidental to me.

Working with materials available around is a lovely idea. I'm sure Vishakha would have some amazing ideas to contribute here.

Hope more people join this conversation.

Love

Hellooo
Good morning and much love to all of you today.
Sorry I've been out of the loop a little bit. :) Been running around in circles doing three courses at the same time in srishti and have barely had time to breathe. Let alone reply. Sigh!
So apologies for my silence. Things are freeing up now so I'm back on board with anything-everything.
The scrap book sounds like a great idea as do a bunch of ideas I've been reading online.
Shabnam- If you need me to create something for the stall at fireflies let me know.
Also- This is where all my work is http://bonifisheii.blogspot.com/
Do see it sometime  :)
Haven't had the time to put up the sketches I did in the kabir workshop yet. But that shall happen soon.
Some sketches of all of you as well.
Much much Love
thank you
Shilo

Okay, so let me open up this meeting to all those of you who are based in Bangalore and are able to make it... I'd sent out this mail to Vishakha, Shalini, Jyoti Sahi and Arati who were active on the Khel Khel Mein... discussions post the workshop. I've suddenly heard from Madhu and now Shilo... and of course outstation Chintan has stirred up some discussions in this direction..... that's good to see.
Meanwhile, Shilo, Anupa, Madhu.... here is the invite to a Monday morning brainstorm at my place.... though I realize with school hours it may be difficult for many of you to make it.. let me know. warmly, shabnam

Hi all... may I suggest that we all meet on 22nd Feb Monday morning at my place at 830 am for satsang, followed by a discussion fuelled by Mary's breakfast and chai... about Khel Khel Mein Kabir initiatives... Vishakha has a few ideas glimmering in her head. Jyoti - you and Jane - have expressed interest in becoming part of this process in some way. Arati & I are going to Crystal House and Shibumi for interactions with students and faculty in the coming week, which should spark some ideas.... I think it would be nice if we could all meet and brainstorm possibilities together.
Warmly
Shabnam

Hi Shabnam,

A big hello...and best wishes and all my love for the fireflies programme.. Am sorry about the Monday morning programme..as you guessed rightly with school hours and right now being Feb-March where school is at its hectic best with final term closing..its difficult. Have not been able to keep in touch with the group much. We had a screening of Chalo Hamare Des ata friends house followed by a discussion... We are looking at having another workshop with the teachers in April, regarding which Farah will get in touch with you.

Love
Anupa

Dear Anupa,
Good to hear from you and I look forward to hearing from you and Farah about the teachers workshop you're planning in April. Some artists/educators are getting together to plan a series of Kabir related school based interventions, and if your school would like to be part of this process in some way, it would be good.
Warmly
shabnam
