It has come to my attention that the Sunnyvale Chamber working with city staff wants to reduce waste at this weekend’s Art and Wine Festival in downtown Sunnyvale. But they need volunteers to man the recycling stations. If you can help, please email myself AND Barbara: danh@pacbell.net and barbf53@aol.com. This is a great opportunity to not only promote recycling and waste reduction but also a time to talk about MAEP and PAMF.

Help Make the 2009 Art and Wine Festival a Zero Waste Event.
The Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sunnyvale need volunteers to help make this weekend's Art and Wine Festival a Zero Waste event. Please consider signing up for a two-hour shift at a recycling/composting/garbage station to help Festival-goers get their throw-aways in the right bin. Shifts begin at 10AM and run until 6 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. To volunteer, please e-mail Barbara Fukumoto at barbf53@aol.com.

plug for Barbara's call for volunteers for the Art & Wine Festival garbage monitoring.
I'm planning to help and I'm hoping others will too--it will help on the day of
the festival, of course, but each person who interacts with you and your
garbage station will have an awareness-raising moment as a result! Plant those
seeds!
