Good Tuesday, all!
It is time to get the Food Pantry up and running! Hunger is at an all time high in SF and there is no reason to think it isn't hitting Sunnyside. Did you know that the City runs a clinic to treat children suffering from malnutriton? In San Francisco!! At the end of last year we were distributing food to 17% of Sunnyside's families and there is reason to believe it may be higher this year. More than ever, the Food Pantry needs someone to keep it going.
Unlike the last 2 years, I am not able to commit to the Pantry this year. Unless someone, or a few someones, comes forward there will not be a Pantry this year! I have secured funding for the program for the year, we have adequate space and there is so much need for help. This is such an easy program to keep going, and with simple organization does not have to be a huge time suck for anyone. An hour or two a week could be the beginning of getting this very needed program back on it's feet.
