Safeway environmental review

Hello:
I just wanted to let people on this group know that the S.F. Planning
Dept. sent out a letter to neighbors within 300 ft. of Safeway about
the environmental review public comment period. you can access the

Anyone can comment, and comments must be received before Nov. 14.

I believe the biggest outstanding concerns of the neighborhood in
general are traffic and noise (including the proposed 24-hour
operation), both of which fall under environmental concerns.

My backyard abuts the Safeway parking lot. While I am not looking
forward to the noise and disruption of the construction period, I feel
that in general an improved and remodeled Safeway will be a benefit to
the neighborhood. I am not at all happy about the proposed 24-hour
operation and will voice my own personal concerns about that. I am
hopeful that overall traffic calming efforts will make the Foerster &
Monterey intersection safer.
