I have attached the bulletin (both in pdf and notebook).  After condensing and editing, we are down to 7 pages of information.  As you might be able to figure, that is a problem for bulletins.  Right now our current bulletin is 6 pages.  What I anticipated was 8.  Ideas?

Also, some of you pointed out that information is not up to date.  That is true for the changing announcements and sermon notes page.  The rest should be right.  It also will need some cleaning up after removing the pictures.

John Frisbie's point about the font is well-taken.  Can someone take the bulletin and more fully standardize the font?  Right now there is Cochrin, Plantangenet, Times, and Georgia (plus the logo which font I have no idea).  Also, clean it up?  I will have to give you the notebook file as it is too big to send.

One option might be to make the tear-out sheet a separate insert (so people don't have to rip up the bulletin each week). That will free up some space to condense it down to 6 pages, plus a response card (i.e., one full sheet front and back + one half sheet front and back).

PS: I would advise against using "novelty" fonts (e.g. Cochrin, Plantangenet, etc.). Many computers do not come with these special fonts, which means we would depend on whichever computer(s) have the font to do the bulletin.

I like the info insert idea.  It would also be one less step for someone (thereby increasing liklihood of filling it out).

Once the bulletin framework is set, carli will be filling in the weekly announcements and producing the bulletin. She will be doing it on a mac, so font choice shouldn't be an issue.

Interesting.  I actually don't mind the pens leaving with newcomers!  Maybe web site address on the pen too?

We had thought about golf pencils because they were really cheap but if we could get pens cheap with our name/logo? and web address? that would be even better.

Hmmmm. . . .

What do you all think?

My fiancee's church also does detached response cards (with much of the same info that is being proposed in our new response card). They also give out pens with the bulletins, with the expectation that people will return the pens after service (on the way out of the sanctuary) or keep them as souvenirs. I think most regular attendees return them, while newcomers tend to keep them, so the attrition rate of pens isn't too bad. Maybe we can look into the feasibility of getting several hundred pens with "QPC Sunnyside" written on them, to promote both the filling out of the response cards and the new church name? Just a thought..
