Try to even find the information on:

400 Students (15 classrooms X 30 students per class =....?) Is it actually
450 Students?
Only 42 on site parking spaces
904 possible users at the same time = 226 spaces required.
Students aged 16-21 years, all dof riving age discounted to only 200
possible drivers.
Find the number of drivers for parking calcs.
Bike trail closed
Imaginary and illegal parking share agreements
Americans with Disability Act parking for 226 people

(Hint, look at the tiny text in the lower right corner.)

Do you think these were accidental omissions ? Sized for Seniors to read?

Send comments to Brian Smart bsm...@cob.org on permit and permitting
process.by 4/11/2016 Monday!

Send an email to Greg....@bellinghamschools.org to request they withdraw
the application and re-submit after actually informing the public, including
Sunnyland residents.

Is this Greg's Harvard Trained policy? Deceive the public and slip in key
info at size 2 font? Can we expect this technique for all future school
district projects?

I don't know why they do this to us constituents time and time again.  Are they not supposed to be public servants?  I have written my objection to the bike trail being closed.  I hope others do the same.  Its like condemning a street only worse since bike paths are something that the planners have pledged to expand.  Not to mention the irony of opening up a school with not enough parking AND taking away the bike path as well which would make it safe for everyone to arrive at school without needing parking.

We noticed the same pattern of mis information with school start and stop dates and education requirements.

my letter to Mr. Smart:

Dear Mr. Smart

I have been a resident of the lower Sunnyland neighborhood for 20 years this year, residing at 2211 Grant St since 1996.  Two of my three sons attend/attended Bellingham Public Schools, which generally do a pretty good job.  However, it has come to my attention that the BPS is proposing to expand the Options high school campus, necessitating the closure of the heavily-used bike trail.  I have a number of questions regarding this expansion that I understand I have only today to discover and address.  Having been a Chair of the Sunnyland Neighborhood Association, and formerly sat on Mayor Asmundson's Mayor's Neighborhood Advisory Committee, I would like to posit that the notification and design/collaboration process with the neighborhood has been wholly insufficient.  There are significant traffic issues to be addressed which will require neighborhood participation.

I am requesting that your re-open the comment period for a further two weeks, at the very least, which should include a well-advertised presentation of the proposed changes, so that a sufficient representation of neighbors might be able to engage and advise the process, as is intended with major infrastructure changes in our living spaces.  I hope you will see the wisdom in correcting this oversight.

Sincerely

David Donohue
2211 Grant St.
