Hello!

We're launching Open Master's in the Bay Area and we hope you'll join us for our Learning Plan Workshop, a participatory introduction intended to help you get started with your learning goals. The workshop is geared towards those who don't want to pursue a traditional master's program, those who are not ready to join a formal program, or those who simply want to structure their self directed learning.

Open Master's is a global community for social, self-directed learners; the Bay Area branch is a perpetually emergent space where individuals offer each other the structure, accountability, relationships, and sense of forward direction that are often hard to find outside of formal education. For those of you interested in extending your learning journeys, The Learning Plan Workshop is the first step in refining your area of study, receiving feedback from others, and outlining your first action items.

What: Open Master's Learning Plan Workshop

Where: Impact Hub, 901 Mission St #105, San Francisco, CA 94103

When: February 25, 7:00 - 9:30 pm

What: Partner activity to hone your learning goals modeled off of Stanford D School's Design Thinking Crash Course, along with a group activity where you will receive feedback, networking connections, and suggestions for organizing and creating your curriculum

If you're questioning if this workshop and/or program would be for you, consider the following questions:
  • Is there something you've been wanting to study but haven't been able to build structure around?
  • Do you consider yourself a life-long learner?
  • Is this not quite the right time to go back to traditional school?
  • Is traditional education not meeting your needs?
  • Do you have time and money restrictions holding you back from returning to school?
  • Do you like directing your own learning?
  • Are you seeking a community of people who can help support your learning goals?
Feel free to pass the invite along!
Thanks and hope to see you there ~

Sophie, Jesse, Sarah, Patton, Tess, Katherin, Jacob, and Jenn (Your Open Master's Hosts)
