Ipurchase the digital special edition of red dead redemption, both ad-dons automatically installed the pre-order and the special edition file. I started a new game after I disable the special edition, but it seems like I mess up and it was still in the systems. I delete it again, cause I don't want the free weapons from the gunsmiths, but they are still showing up as $0 dollars. Do I have to repeat the game again with the deleted ad-dons for those stupid 3 guns to have value again on the gunsmith. I only bough the special edition for the "Bank robbery mission and gang hideout in story mode. When I go to settings and I disable game-play boosts and cash bonus discounts it only affects the discounts to upgrade the camp.
What do I have to do to disable those 3 free weapons from the gunsmith : Volcanic pistol, varmint rifle and pump action shotgun. Without restarting from the beginning. Why do they make all the bonuses for the special edition come together in a single ad-don download. Should, I just get a refund and get the standard edition, since there is no option to disable all those early cheats when pre-ordering and getting the special edition of the game.

There should be an option to make them non - free, I don't understand why they have a special edition and they make all the addon in a single file. They added the option to turn off all the extra free cash and upgrade discount, it shouldn't have taken much to add an option to disable the discount for the free weapons in the settings menu. Is this game was on the pc, I could have disable the files myself.
I intentionally, play a new game, and delete the files that made it different from the standard edition, but I couldn't tell if it work until chapter 2 of the game because I didn't have access to gunsmith merchant. If you go into the gunsmith, it mentions the volcanic pistol was $148, and it shows as $0 dollars.
I don't like it when any merchant gives me a weapon for free, from the menu. If I have the option to steal the weapon it would be different, I don't understand why they think that most people want to pay more money to make the game easier, if it wasn't for those extra missions I would not have bothered with the special edition. They could have put those extra missions in a separate download instead of packaging all their ad-dons in a single file.
I agree with Alakar. There should be an option to turn off any of the free stuff from pre order/special editions. Making the game easier by giving out free horses, (which are miles better then the horses in the base game) free guns, and free consumable items right at the beginning of the game detiorates the experience for me. The game is already pretty easy without any kind of difficulty setting, why make it easier?
I've heard if you want to make it harder you can turn off the mini map and just go exploring. I'm sure there are other ways to make it more difficult but that would be a big one for me, turning off the mini map.
Holding down on the D-Pad while in-game gives 4 options for the mini-map. Default mini-map, expanded (just a bigger version), no mini-map (just shows the health/stam/deadeye markers), and radar/compass only (don't remember if it's a radar or just compass). There's several other options in the game's settings that can make it more difficult, like turning off the wanted pop-up, removing the data that pops up when you loot something, etc.
Am I missing something here? Why doesnt' the OP simply not use the 'free' horse and guns? For example the pump action shotgun is earned (found) in a mission - so just do not use it until that unlock occurs and ride a different horse
In regards to the horses, do as you like but I prefer to just ride up north and get the White Arabian for free in chapter 2. It is not as good as the Black or Rose Arabian but it is free. So in that regard I do not find it any strange that those with the special editions of this game uses their bonus horses.
In the end, you get more or less all weapons for free in one way or the other anyway. It is the customization that may be costly but definitely worth it even the customizations that are for aesthetics only.
It's going to happen to you later in the game if you complete certain tasks/events. All this option does is merely accelerate the timeline. If you're objecting to their inclusion on some sort of moralistic grounds, then there's nothing you can do about it apart from exercising some self-discipline and not purchasing them for "free".
To every one saying "just don't use the free items". Not using the free horses is easy enough. Ignoring the free consumables is a bit of a problem since its automatically added to your inventory but still not that big of an issue. The reason why getting the free guns is such a big issue is because its something i want to earn, not handed out to me for free from this particular story mission or because i bought the special edition(and can't unistall it without unistalling the entire freaking game on the ps4). I want something worth while to spend my in game cash on.
The Explosive Rifle is not like any other type of rifle found in the game. However, its design does bear some similarities to a cross between the Bolt Action Rifle and the Buffalo Rifle. It uses a special type of ammunition called Explosive Rounds, which are only sold at gunsmiths, not general stores. These rounds when fired travel just as quickly as bullets, and detonate directly on impact with a target. A direct hit on a person will cause the person to explode in a shower of blood and body parts. A direct hit on an animal such as a horse or cow will cause the animal to burst into a spectacular display of red mist and guts. An indirect hit, in which an enemy is caught in the blast area, kills an enemy and sends them flying much like Dynamite. The force of the blast can even knock down nearby enemies outside of the "kill zone" in the process.
The weapon comes with limited ammunition. The maximum limit on ammo is 15 rounds, 30 with the bandolier. The Explosive Rifle also has a rather slow rate of fire considering it can only fire one round at a time before being reloaded, like the Buffalo Rifle. Because of this, it is not wise to use this weapon full-time.
A set of Explosive Rifle challenges is added to both single player and Undead Nightmare. In each game there are five ranks to complete, after which the player earns the Master Exploder trophy/achievement. After completion in single player, all gunsmiths will sell Explosive Rounds at half price.
