Try not to cross your legs when sitting.
I bet quite a few of you were like me....started to read this with your legs crossed...so hard to break this bad habit! :)
For those who do not understand Chinese, take a look at the photos below:
Those who often cross their legs when sitting for a long period of time, 3 unhealthy things will happen:
1 Their backbone tends to become 'C' shape
2 They will have neck aches and backaches on one side
3 For ladies, the shoulder will tend to slant one side causing the bra strap to slip down the slanted shoulder.
Try not to cross your legs when sitting.
Nowadays most people just do it for comfort.
Technically, it's inappropriate for anyone to cross their legs at the knee. For women the knees stay together and the ankles cross or your ankles and knees just set together, no crossing. No matter what you're wearing. That is the proper way to sit.
Men can also cross their ankles. However their knees do not necessarily have to touch.
That's the way to do it for class reasons. Crossing your legs at the knee is uncouth and not classy. However, nobody pays attention to it anymore. It's done to make a person feel more comfortable when they sit. In high society or proper circles the old rules are still followed. I would never cross my legs at the knee at a wedding or a formal event.
