Free Home Radon Test Kit - While supplies last, the Texas Department of State Health Services is offering free radon test kits to encourage more Texans to test their homes for Radon. Radon that seeps into homes may accumulate and decay into radioactive, chemically reactive particles that attach themselves to dust in the home. If inhaled over a long period of time, these radioactive particles may cause damage to the lung tissues and increase the risk of developing lung cancer. The Texas Department of State Health Services, along with the U.S. EPA and the U.S. Surgeon General, encourages everyone to test their home for radon. With the tests thus far collected the average levels in Texas is within national norms, You can help broaden the test sample and test your own home by participating in these tests. More information can be found at tinyurl.com/RadonTX. You can order a free test kit at tinyurl.com/RadonTxTestKit
