Repurpose Egg Cartons and Old Maps - Before recycling see if you can’t reuse your old stuff to stave off the puchase of new stuff. Give new life to those old maps by using them as wrapping paper or by cutting them up into strips and weaving them into a basket as illuustrated by the slide show at tinyurl.com/MapBasket. Some creative reuse of egg cartons include using them as a golf ball storage container, jewelry organizer, desk organizer for inside a drawer, money sorter/changer, craft supplies storage, or a container to make extra ice cubes.
There is a new release of the St. Matthew’s Recycling and Reuse chart available at the Welcome Table in the Commons. This lists on the front all the items taken at the St. Matthew’s recycling cabinet (SE corner of sanctuary basement), and on the back the items taken by local charitable organizations for reuse.
