Winter and Holiday Tips

* You may be able to save energy and money by adding an insulating blanked to your hot water heater. Put your palm against your water heater and if it feels warm then it can benefit from additional insulation. For more details see: tinyurl.com/xHotwater
* If you get Christmas presents packed with Styrofoam blocks (expanded polystyrene) remember that Ecology Action will take it for recycling. See: tinyurl.com/xStyro. You cannot put Styrofoam in the City’s blue recycling bin. Take packing peanuts to a FedEx or UPS store.

* The latest chart of where you can take your recycling and, better yet, where you can take your reuseable items for another useful life may be found at the Welcome table in the Commons. Many items including old eyeglasses and small electronics may be deposited in the cabinet in the SE corner of the basement.
