Message from riem...@gmail.com:
Hi Everyone,

I have created a web site:

  https://sites.google.com/site/sundaytimesteasers/

for Sunday Times Teasers to hold the information and attachments that we can no longer host on Google Groups. It's not at all polished yet but it will, I hope, serve its initial purpose.

I am not allowing group members to edit site content at the moment only because I am unsure how to prevent anyone who joins us with malicious intent from destroying or disrupting the site content. But if anyone wants to add or edit content, just let me know as I believe I can set up each email address with its own permissions (just tell me the email address you want to use).

    with my regards,

        Cactus (Brian Gladman)

Hi Peter

My apologies to you, Garry and others for getting this wrong. A gmail
account is NOT necessary in order to comment on the new web site.

What appears to be necessary is that you should: (a) have a Google
Account (not a gmail account), (b) be logged into it when you want to
add a comment, and (c) be listed as a collaborator for the web
site.

I have tried to list everyone who is a member of this group as a web
site collaborator but I don't yet know if this has worked.

I can add comments on the web site but as I am its owner I suspect I
can do anything I like.

I doubt that this meets TMs concern though, as it is probably as
intrusive to obtain a Google Account as it is a gmail account.

Hello all

Opening my yahoomail seems to log me on to Google - this must have
been set up a long time ago, as I'd forgotten the connection. When I
then went to the new site I was able to leave a comment, so the system
is working as Brian described it. Privacy concerns are another matter,
though I can't say that I'm bothered.

I may be wrong here, but it seems that comments are unstructured, i.e.
linear and unnested. If this is so, each contribution to the ongoing
debate about each teaser would have to begin with the number.

Hi Garry,

Thanks for testing this out.

Although the comments linked with each web page are linear, I have
allowed
comments on each teaser page (as well as the site comment page you
used) so
it should be easy to discuss each teaser.

Hi Brian,

As you say, it is possible to make comments on the new website which
are specific to a teaser (I have just done a test which worked), so
discussing each teaser will be straightforward.

Thank you for testing this John.

It would be useful to know, of those who wish to comment on teasers,
how many don't have a Google account.

Brian
I already had a Google account, so my minor wobbky about Gmail doesn't
apply.
I've added a Comment (solution) to T2513 in the new place - is that
the way it's supposed to work?

Hello Bruce

Yes, that is exactly right. Glad to know you can use the new site.

Peter is having some issues with the new site but I hope we will be
able to solve these.

Brian
