The number of rikishi listed on the banzuke is 599. Although this is an increase of 7 from Haru, it is the fourth consecutive tournament with fewer than 600 rikishi. The previous record was 943 wrestlers in Natsu of 1994, which was boosted by the "Waka-Taka boom". The heya with the most rikishi is Isegahama with 32. This is followed by Takasago with 26, Sakaigawa and Tamanoi with 23 each, Nishonoseki with 22, and Oitekaze with 20. The heya with the most sekitori is Isegahama with 8 (4 in Makuuchi and 4 in Juryo).
