The All-Japan one day knockout tournament was held at the Kokugikan today. Winner, Houshouryuu, beating Oonosato in the finals - second time winning after three years. As this was the same matchup as the Aki basho playoff, he said, "It reminded me of the last tournament." He continued, "I think we'll be facing each other many times, so we're both fired up and determined to put on a good fight. With that mindset, we'll both do our best. I'm sure Oonosato feels the same way, too, so we have to work hard. With that mindset, I'll train hard and do my best for the next November basho." A few days ago he revealed that he dislocated the index finger on his right hand during the senshuraku bout. "It's wrapped up," he said, showing his index and middle fingers, both wrapped in tape. He also admitted to feeling pain. However, when asked about the final match, which he did not respond to interviews after the bout on that day, he simply repeated, "It's over now," and added, "It was my fault for losing."
