Day 1 results:
Ozeki Kotozakura beat Ozeki Kirishima by yorikiri in the final to win the yusho. Wakatakakage , the winner of Natsu and Yokozuna Oonosato were both eliminated in the third round, while Yokozuna Houshouryuu was eliminated in the semi-finals. The tournament will continue tomorrow.
