Is Aonishiki not injured at all?! His overwhelming strength has raised suspicions with Hakkaku Rijicho.  Aonishiki beat  Ozeki Kirishima to maintain his two-loss record and take sole possession of the lead in the yusho race. He has injuries to his left ankle and left big toe, and is heavily taped up, but is showing strength that shows no signs of being affected. Chairman Hakkaku praised his performance, saying, "He must have strong upper body strength. Kirishima was lifted off his torso." When asked about Aonishiki's mental strength, he commented, "People talk about his injuries, but it's as if he's not in pain, or doesn't want to be in pain." When reporters asked him, "You don't want to talk about it?", he replied, "Maybe he's not really in pain? I don't know if he's injured or not, but he's a strong person," expressing his admiration for his resilience to injury.
