Enhou responds regarding his match against Kagayaki today:
When he learned of the match the day before, he said, "I was happy." During the period when he was away from the dohyo for a long time due to a spinal cord injury, Kagayaki, worried about him, even advised him to retire. "A lot of time has passed. At the time (when I was injured), I never thought a day like this would come, so being able to come back this far is a source of joy." There was a definite meaning in them facing each other again in the dohyo as sekitori. The match was not easy. Enhou started low and moved forward, but was pushed back by Kagayaki's pressure. He circled around at the edge of the dohyo, but was ultimately pushed out. "I was determined to give it my all," he said. Despite facing an old friend, he said there was "no particular difficulty." Their most recent encounter was won  in 2022 by Enhou with a kainahineri. Their past head-to-head record was 2 wins and 4 losses for Enhou. He returned to the sekitori fold last tournament after a three-year absence, and this tournament they are both ranked at 11th in the East and West of Juryon, which made this match possible. There is a possibility of future matches. "I can't end it with a loss, so I definitely want to beat him next time." The fact that they clashed again in the dohyo as sekitori is what makes the loss all the more frustrating. Finally, he expressed his feelings for his old acquaintance, saying, "I hope we can both stay injury-free and aim for the top." [Ryotaro Yamada]
