Yokozuna Oonosato, who missed the entire Hatsu Basho due to left shoulder pain, will participate in the Paris jungyo in June, it was announced on the 24th. This was revealed by his Oyakata, Nishonoseki. During Hatsu basho, he received treatment while continuing to practice at the keiko-ba. The Oyakata said, "I hope this will be a time for him to get in sync with his own body." His recovery is said to be progressing well. Oonosato injured his left shoulder at the Kyushu Basho in November of last year. He withdrew from Haru Basho in March from the fourth day. He is also scheduled to participate in the danpatsushiki of Ooyama Oyakata (former Komusubi Hokutofuji) on May 30th and Kiriyama Oyakata (former Sekiwake Takarafuji) on May 31st, both at Ryogoku Kokugikan.
