More Aonishiki: He lost to Tamawashi in the third round and only received 150,000 yen. At a talk event on the 7th at NHK Welfare Grand Sumo, he revealed that while he has been on the "prize money road" since his debut in the makuuchi division, having won three awards in five consecutive tournaments and winning two yusho in a row, he is currently worried about his tax return, saying, "I feel like I need to look into it in more detail."

Hiradoumi received the Fighting Spirit Prize.  Entering the tournament from the second round, he defeated Fujinokawa, Ouhou, and Tamawashi to advance to the semi-finals. Although he lost to Houshouryuu in the semi-finals, his energetic sumo was highly praised. The person presenting the yusho trophy to the winner of this tournament was his Oyakata, tour director Sakaigawa.  Hiradoumi revealed that he had been aiming to win the yusho, saying, "I heard that my Oyakata would be giving the award, so I wanted to do my best to make a mark." Still, Sakaigawa was also the one to present him with the certificate for the Fighting Spirit Prize. "I didn't even get second place, so I never expected to receive the Fighting Spirit Prize..." he said, surprised.
