The punishment announced seems a bit light to many of us, but there is another part that has been a bit overlooked and that is Terunofuji's leadership. The punishment calls for a "joint supervision" of the heya by Isegahama and his four attached Oyakata. Tateyama hinted that that is where it's going. Additionally for the benefit of those of us doing the 'wink, wink, nod, nod" thing, they in turn will be supervised by Ichimon boss Asakayama (ex-KaioU), who in turn will be supervised by two members of the Compliance Committee, both civilians.  Sure, it's a lot to do with public perception, but i bet Terunofuji is not happy with that part at all.

So...More on the "Collective Leadership" of Isegahama beya: Yesterday, Tateyama Oyakata (one of the Isegahama beya attached Oyakatas..) discussed future operations with Asakayama, riji of the same Ichimon (former Ozeki KaioU), and Sadogatake, the head of crisis management at the Kyokai, at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo. Regarding the collective guidance system of five people, including the attached Oyakata, he explained, "We will have all the Oyakata look after the heya and provide guidance. It won't be a situation where there is a top Shisho and then the Oyakatas, but rather everyone will be on the same level looking after the deshi. The attached Oyakatas will also have a say." In the future, Asakayama and others may inspect the heya. "We will gather information on even the smallest things in the heya and report to Asakayama. Asakayama will then report it to his superiors," he said, explaining that they will report about once a month. "Even more so. It's not just the shisho who will be doing the guidance; I'm doing it too, and we're all involved in that, so the keiko area won't change, but the Oyakatas attached to the heya need to cooperate more in terms of personal life." Currently, the keiko area and lodgings of the Isegahama heya are located far apart. "The Oyakatas attached to the beya all have homes and families, but if they have free time, they will look around the heya and drop by," he said, indicating that they will keep a close eye on the heya not only during the day but also in the evenings and at night.

Me: Tateyama (ex-Homarefuji) is probably enjoying all this immensely. A few years back it was rumored he was destined to take over Isegahama  beya when the former Isegahama would retired, but the rather early retirement of Terunofuji and his popularity (maybe..) changed all that at some point. Just me being gossipy
