The Haru Jungyo arrived at Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture today. During the morning keiko, re-fresh Ozeki Kirishima thrilled the crowd with a serious keiko session against Juryo Wakanoshou. Towards the end of the general session, Kirishima stepped onto the dohyo and overwhelmed Wakanoshou with a variety of attacks, including thrusts, pushes, yorikiri from a left-hand grip, and sharp footwork. He had only resumed sumo practice the day before and said, "I'm sore. My body hurts," but he also showed a sense of fulfillment, saying, "Practicing with someone who comes at you with full force is good practice." Meanwhile, 22-year-old Wakanoshou, who is a strong contender for promotion to Makuuchi in Natsu, challenged Kirishima with all his might, saying, "It would be rude to hold back." He expressed his gratitude, saying, "He's really strong. I felt very grateful."
