Hi there!! Thank you for the fence post on our HOA’s Facebook page! I had a question and one comment, but didn’t want to share the comment on the post.

We moved into our home on W Capstone May 2021. We had our fence installed in July (following the HOA rules, our fence was approved by the board), by Boise River Fence. The quality of work was terrible. I have nearly 100 photos showing the poor installation (nails through fence boards, crooked boards, and much more). When we received our final invoice we asked that a manager come out and look at not only the work, but the garbage and supplies left behind by the staff members. While they admitted their crew did a poor job, they fixed a couple of things, but we were still required to pay the full price for the fence. We didn’t want to cause problems, so we paid it. Just wanted to share our experience, in case others have had the same issue.

Question - our realtor mentioned the good neighbor fence law when we had the fence installed. They mentioned they would reach out to the homeowner, since the people living in the home are renters. Unfortunately we never heard back. It’s nearly 2 years later, but what would we do in this case, should we just go ahead and let it go? It’s not a problem, just more so curious if we should’ve done more to find out how to contact the homeowner directly.

Thank you!
