Easy steps to update your MD-380 or MD-390 to "MD380 Tools" firmware using a Raspberry Pi

So what is the MD380 Tools firmware?  It is hacked firmware written by Travis Goodspeed who managed to reverse engineer the original MD-380 firmware and unlock extra features of the radio. What features, here are just a few:

1. Removes the "boot beep" when you turn on the radio

2. Change the "Roger Beep" from its normal high tone to a lower frequency tone that sounds better

3. Allows different boot options

4. Allows you to change the date format

5. Allows you to use a "special" user CSV file, load the entire DMR user database into your radio (doesn't affect your codeplug contact list), no 1000 user limit, and displays all the user information, Talk Group, DMR ID, Name, Callsign, Location and more in the full display (looks awesome)

6. USB logging

7. Promiscuous mode - if for no other reason this is the one, this mode allows you to hear traffic on any TG on the TS you are on even if that TG is not in the group list

8. Mic bargraph - puts up a nice bargraph of your audio output when you transmit

9. Edit you DMR ID from the radio "on the fly"

10. More backlight options
