Hello All,
I have created a new folder called "MD-380 CODEPLUG". In this folder you will find the "latest and greatest" codeplug for the MD-380 radios. I will be keeping this codeplug updated and the filename will reflect the release date of the plug. I will also announce on this group whenever an updated codeplug has been posted. I want to thank the following people who helped to make this codeplug happen:
Jason Stroll (KC8LIN) for all his input and ideas and for setting up the file server for all our files
Rick Nemer (N8NOQ) for adding all the UHF analog repeaters in the Akron/Cleveland area to the codeplug and for other ideas
Dennis Siciliano (N8GQM) on his suggestions on how to handle empty channels in Zones so they don't "squawk" at you
and especially Andrew Crawl (K4AWC) who created and still supports the original code plug that I have used to help populate this codeplug.
Andrew does send out emails with his latest codeplug every time he updates it so if you are interested in getting Andrews codeplug you can email him at
k4...@arrl.net to be added to his distribution list.
I have modified the codeplug the following way:
I have added all new DMR repeaters in the state: Ashland, Medina and Mentor
I have made any necessary changes to the repeater information for machines already in the codeplug: frequency, TG changes, TS changes etc...
Each Zone is broken down by the repeaters location and are in alphabetical order
There are two Zones for each repeater corresponding to TS1 and TS2 with the most popular 16 talkgroups found on the repeater for that TS, most repeaters do not have 16 TG's for each TS
Each Zone has a group list setup for the TG's (channels) in that Zone so you will hear any talkgroup transmitted by the repeater in that TS
UHF Analog Repeaters for the Akron/Cleveland area have been included and are setup as separate Analog Zones for Akron and Cleveland
The simplex channels are in a separate Simplex Zone with both Digital, Analog and "Private" simplex channels available
There is also a Hotspot Zone that is already pre-configured for a hot-spot if you have a hot spot and want a quick setup (just change the freq. of your hotspot to the hotspot channel frequency: 433.6125 T/R)
Any non-programmed channel will show up as "OPEN (channel number)" to keep from getting the "UNPROGRAMMED" message and nasty "squawk" tone.
And there is now an Ohio Scan Zone that will scan all repeaters in the state that carry the Ohio TG so you can stay connected to the Ohio TG while traveling throughout the state - thanks again goes to Andrew for this idea
I will be posting another message to this group with the complete channel information for each Zone.
If you find any errors or omissions please let me know.
Please feel free to modify this codeplug as you see fit.
Don't forget to go to the "General Settings" of the codeplug editor and change the Radio ID to your DMR ID

Ken - KA8OAD
