If you select the repository link in a previous post, go to the "MD-380 Firmware Experimental" folder. There you will find "md380tools-2016-08-12 promiscuous".

This give the MD-380/390 a new menu under Utilities called MD380 Tools. Scroll to Promiscuous and enable. A new icon appears on the screen. This is a global policy and will remain enabled regardless of what digital Zone you enable.

Word of caution. Your channel must have the proper color code and Time slot for Promiscuous to work. If proper color code and Time Slot are programmed you will hear all traffic regardless of Group Call or Private call talkgroups are programmed in.   There is no way easy way to determine the proper color code or Time slot at this time with the MD-380.  Best way to determine the color code is manually program them in and try to decode.  It seems NE Ohio uses color codes 1 and 7 typically.   Time slot1 is for local traffic and time slot 2 is for wide area (State, national, ww) traffic. This is the typical convention, but not 100%.  It's up to the repeater owner/group to decide.

Hi Jason,

Actually you have the last part backwards, the typical convention is "Wide Area" TG's are on TS 1 (NA, WW, WWE etc.) and the local TG's are on TS 2 (Local, State, Regional, TACxxx, etc.).

Also you need the proper color code for the repeater you are listening to, that CC can be anything from CC0 - C15. It is up to the repeater owner to decide what CC the repeater will use. We picked CC1 but you are correct that it seems like most Ohio repeaters use either CC1 or CC7.
